Sustainability
The Sustainability Committee works towards improving Wiley’s environmental connections focusing on several of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals:
#4 – Quality Education: Teaches students environmental responsibility and sustainability practices.
#11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities: Supports cleaner, more sustainable school and local environments.
# 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: Reduces waste sent to landfills and promotes sustainable waste management habits.
#13 - Climate Action, the committee seeks to develop a Sustainable Master Plan for the campus.
#14 – Life Below Water: Proper waste sorting helps prevent trash from entering waterways.
The Committee also includes Garden and Grounds initiatives like installing shade structures and benches, landscaping projects, and organized garden and grounds workdays.
