Spring Afterschool Clubs

Clubs run Tuesday afternoons for 6 weeks from 4:15-5:30pm (6 club sessions)

The Wiley PTA coordinates three six-week sessions of clubs throughout the school year. The clubs are administered by TEK, which pays our teachers to lead the clubs. Participation in clubs supports our teachers.

Chess Mates 

Grades K-5

Taught by Molly Strom and Mackenzie Dull

Come learn all about the exciting game of chess! This playful clear-cut game encourages problem solving and analytical skills, positive self-esteem, as well as verbal and memory reasoning. Join the chess club and become a critical thinker as you learn the skills to play this fun, thought provoking game. This club is geared to beginner and intermediate players. Repeat club members welcome- we’ll pick up right where we left off!



Animals Around the World 

Grades K-2

Taught by Sharon Abel 

Come explore the exciting world of crafting  as we discover animals from around the world! We will create multiple art projects all while we learn about cool animals from around the world. You will be able to bring home unique, handmade items to share with your family. If you love animals and expressing your creativity then this is the club for you! 


STEAM Stories 

Grades 1-3

Taught by Morgan Outler

Come celebrate some amazingly fun books all while exploring the world of STEAM!  We will spend each club session diving into a new book and investigating a cool STEAM activity along with the book. We'll read Rollercoaster and then engineer/test our rollercoasters, Bonnie's Rocket and design/launch our rockets, and much more. Don't miss out on this STEAMtastic experience!

What’s Your Inspiration? Exploring Artists and Creating Art 

Grades 1-4  

Taught by Mary Jane Thompson 

Have you ever wondered why an artist made a piece of artwork? How did they think to use that medium? If so, then come be a part of this creative, hands-on club! Each week we will study famous artists from the 20th Century and talk about the ideas behind their pieces of art. Then, students will create an art piece in that artist’s style. We will explore various art mediums such as painting, fiber art, sculpture, pastel, and much more. Come join us for this amazing art experience!


Sports Palooza 

Grades 2-4 

Taught by Payton Cummings
Are you interested in learning and developing skills in a variety of team sports? During this fun filled club, you will learn how to strategically work together and play some awesome games! Emphasis will be placed on skills, rules and lead-up activities for each game. Good sportsmanship and team cooperation will be required and stressed. Come join the ultimate sports club that is always a huge hit! 


Scrapbooking Club

Grades 2-5                                                       

Taught by Challie Guerra 

Do you love to create and express yourself? Then this is the club for you! During our time together, students will learn how to create memories through imagination, magazines, art, and so much more. Each week we will work on our scrapbooks with weekly themes.  On the last day of the club, students will have the opportunity to present their scrapbooks to classmates! Scrapbooking is a GREAT way to make new friends, express yourself through art,  and make things you can keep for a lifetime. We welcome all repeat scrapbookers to join us again to create a new book full of memories!
